The thought from above this week is, “you are destined for glory.” James Bryan Smith opens the episode with a quote from the movie “Jerry Maguire” where Jerry yells, “show me the money!” Smith explains the meaning behind the quote and how it is actually a cry for authenticity and connection and not for money. He goes on to show us comparisons in the Bible that further explain his point.
The first comparison comes from the book of Exodus. “Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.” (Exodus 33:18) When Moses asks this question he is asking to see the fullness of God and more importantly the mercy of God.
Smith closes the episode with one of his favorite prayers. “Show me your Glory Lord.” He encourages us all to pray this prayer for ourselves and for others, because God wants to show you His glory.

I like how when Moses asks, “Show me your glory,” God says, “I will cause my goodness to pass in front of you.” It’s interesting to think about the connection between God’s glory and goodness.
